Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in obsessive-compulsive disorder

Since we reviewed the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants two years ago1 two of them, fluoxetine (Prozac - Dista) and fluvoxamine (Faverin - Duphar), have also been licensed for the treatment of patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder. How do these and the other SSRIs available in the UK - paroxetine (Seroxat - SmithKline Beecham) and sertraline (Lustral - Invicta/Pfizer) - compare with clomipramine, a standard drug treatment for this disorder?2,3
