Pulmonary arterial hypertension is an uncommon but disablingand often fatal condition, in which there is a sustained risein pulmonary arterial pressure due to progressive obliterationof the pulmonary vascular bed. ${blacktriangledown}$ Bosentan (Tracleer - Actelion),which belongs to a new class of drugs called endothelin receptorantagonists, is now available for treating patients with pulmonaryarterial hypertension.¹ Here we assess whether bosentan offersworthwhile benefits in the management of patients with thiscondition.
