Abstract

The committee on the Review of Medicines (CRM) was established late in 1975 under Section 4 of the Medicines Act 1968¹ “to consider and give advice on the safety, quality and efficacy, in relation to human use, of any substance or article to which any provision of the Medicines Act is applicable . . . . ” It consists of over 20 experts drawn from hospital practice, general practice, academic medicine and pharmacology, pharmacy, and other disciplines, under the chairmanship of Sir Eric Scowen.
