Abstract

The committee on the Review of Medicines (CRM) was established late in 1975 under Section 4 of the Medicines Act 19681 “to consider and give advice on the safety, quality and efficacy, in relation to human use, of any substance or article to which any provision of the Medicines Act is applicable . . . . ” It consists of over 20 experts drawn from hospital practice, general practice, academic medicine and pharmacology, pharmacy, and other disciplines, under the chairmanship of Sir Eric Scowen.
