Oxycodone pectinate (proladone) and other opiate suppositories

Abstract

Most cancer patients who need analgesics regularly can take their medication by mouth, but those with severe dysphagia, continued vomiting, or extreme weakness need an alternative route. Injections are not always practical, especially for patients nursed at home. When this is so, oxycodone pectinate (Proladone - Boots) suppositories may be used instead.
