Ponstan

Abstract

Mefenamic acid (Ponstan - Parke Davis) is a new anthranilic acid derivative which is claimed to produce greater relief of pain than aspirin or codeine. It was discovered in the United States, but is not yet marketed there, presumably because it is still awaiting approval by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration. Here it was first marketed last November, shortly before the Dunlop Committee began work.
