Looking after the elderly diabetic

Abstract

Both established and new cases of diabetes are common among the elderly. The hazards of treatment are greater in the elderly, and the benefits probably less than in younger diabetics. The classical approach to the management of diabetes therefore needs reconsideration and adaptation for the elderly.
