Managing lower urinary tract symptoms in men

  • Relevant BNF sections: 6.4.2, 7.4.1, 7.4.2

Abstract

Over one-quarter of men aged 40 years or over in the UK have lower urinary tract symptoms.1 These symptoms, which may seriously disrupt day-to-day activity, include frequency, urgency, hesitancy, reduced flow, dribbling, nocturia, incontinence and incomplete emptying of the bladder. Here, we review non-surgical measures that may help men with such symptoms.
