Adoption: social aspects that may concern the doctor

Abstract

Particularly in general practice, doctors are liable to be consulted about babies that the mother cannot keep, or by couples who want to adopt a child and may not know how to approach such problems. This note deals mainly with the social aspects of adoption, not with the controversy about ‘matching’.
