L-dopa and amantadine for parkinsonism

Abstract

Since we discussed L-dopa last year1 the drug has been marketed as Larodopa (Roche) and Brocadopa (Brocades), many further reports on it have been published,2–6 and the lay press has at times exaggerated both its benefits and its adverse effects. Meanwhile another new drug, amantadine (Symmetrel - Geigy), has also been introduced for Parkinsonism.
