Abstract

Follow-up is an essential part of the management of many types of illness, but it is often less efficient than it might be if more thought were given to its organisation. This article discusses only postoperative follow-up, because the issues emerge more sharply than they would in a general discussion. However, closely similar points could be made about medical follow-up.
