Jaundice from iprindole (prondol)

Abstract

The tricyclic antidepressive drug iprindole (Prondol - Wyeth) has been in use since 1967, and has received some favourable reports. It has relatively mild atropine-like effects.1–3 Recently, however, reports have appeared of jaundice associated with its use4–8 and the manufacturer has sent a warning letter to doctors.9
