Adrenocortical steroids in cancer

Abstract

Adrenocortical hormones, like some other drugs, occasionally produce temporary palliation of symptoms in cancer patients; in a small minority, the steroids produce transitory objective changes with prolongation of life. The usefulness of adrenocortical steroids in treating solid tumours has, however, been overstated.
