Tenuate, apisate and other appetite depressants
Abstract
Preparations containing diethylpropion (Tenuate - Merrell; Apisate - Wyeth) a compound related to amphetamine, are probably the most heavily promoted of the so-called appetite-depressing drugs. Like other relatives of amphetamine, diethylpropion is claimed to depress the appetite without the stimulating effects on the central nervous system characteristic of amphetamine.
