Two manufacturers make preparations for this purpose. Daktarin (Janssen) and Dermonistat (Ortho) are for use on the skin; Gyno-Daktarin and Monistat are preparations for treating candidal vaginitis and vulvovaginitis. All these creams contain 2% miconazole nitrate. Preparations for systemic use are being investigated but are not yet generally available.
