It contains ethinyloestradiol (EE) 35 μg + norgestimate 250μg, which, like levonorgestrel, desogestrel and gestodene, is related to norgestrel. Cilest is claimed to give excellent cycle control with minimal side effects, to improve lipid profile and to have low androgenicity.
