AB  - Differences in the metabolism of fructose and glucose have led to claims that fructose has advantages in therapy. The manufacturers advocate the use of oral fructose (Laevoral Elixir - Calmic) in a variety of conditions, including diabetes, chronic alcoholism and vomiting of pregnancy. Intravenous preparations are also available (Laevosan - Calmic).
