The makers suggest that it should be used in acute and chronic bronchitis and other conditions where tenacious sputum is a problem. They claim first that it disrupts the felt-work of acid mucopolysaccharide film in mucoid broncial secretions, reducing their viscosity, and second that this eases expectoration.
