Abstract

The indications for the use of sulphonamides are clear but few. Nevertheless they are claimed to be valuable in the treatment of many sorts of infections and the number and variety of sulphonamide preparations continue to increase. The latest preparation, sulphamethoxydiazine (Durenate - FBA; Schering, Berlin), has just been launched with the slogan “Sulphonamides make their comeback with Durenate”.
