Alclofenac (prinalgin)

Abstract

Alclofenac (Prinalgin - Berk) is promoted as a ‘major new analgesic for rheumatism and arthritis’. It is chemically related to earlier anti-inflammatory compounds, ibuprofen (Brufen - Boots)1 and ibufenac (Dytransin - Boots).2 Ibufenac was withdrawn because of hepatotoxicity.
