Disinfecting the skin with iodophors (Sept 15, 1972, p. 75)

Abstract

We mentioned only one brand of povidone-iodine, but in fact three are available, Betadine (Napp), Disadine (Avlex) and Pevidine (Berk). All contain 10% povidone-iodine, which is equivalent to 1% available iodine. The basic NHS costs for 500 ml of the solutions are:

Betadine, £1.35; Disadine, £1.00; Pevidine, £1.08.
