Abstract

Lorazepam (Ativan - Wyeth) is a benzodiazepine drug recently made available to a number of psychiatrists, and to be fully marketed soon. It is intended for the treatment of all forms of anxiety and it also has hypnotic properties, but its advantages over the five available benzodiazepines are obscure.
