Strong analgesics by mouth


Morphine and allied substances are powerful analgesics and their use by mouth is usually restricted to patients with advanced cancer. The choice between oral morphine and other strong analgesics has been haphazard and unsatisfactory because little is known about their relative efficacy by mouth.
