Abstract

Cephazolin (Kefzol - Lilly) is the fourth injectable cephalosporin derivative to appear, the others being cephalothin, cephaloridine and cephradine. To gain acceptance the new drug should either be more active, or less toxic (or less expensive) than its predecessors. We have previously discussed the oral cephalosporins cephalexin (Ceporex - Glaxo; Keflex - Lilly) and cephradine.¹
