Low-vision aids
Abstract
Many visually handicapped people including those registered as ‘Blind’ can be helped to make better use of their residual vision by the competent prescribing and supply of low-vision aids. Such aids may allow them some continued independence in their work and socially. Often they and their doctors do not realise that this kind of help is available. Even many ophthalmologists and opticians know little about their value and are unable to prescribe them competently.
