For over 20 years the neuroleptics (major tranquillisers) have been the mainstay of drug treatment of psychotic patients. Fluspirilene (Redeptin - SKF) is one of a new series of neuroleptics, the diphenylbutylpiperidines, of which pimozide (Orap - Janssen)¹ is the prototype.
