Abstract

Deltacortril-enteric (Pfizer) is a synthetic crystalline formulation of prednisolone which the manufacturer claims is ‘with little or no risk of causing gastric irritation or ulceration’ and that its ‘enteric coating allows the tablet to disintegrate immediately on entering the jejunum, thus avoiding the risk of bacterial degradation and inactivation’.
