Salbutamol inhalation: rotahaler v. pressurised aerosol
Abstract
Salbutamol (Ventolin) is a β2-selective adrenoceptor stimulant which, like other selective agents, is a potent bronchodilator and less likely than isoprenaline to affect the heart.1–3 To increase selectivity for the airways, salbutamol is often given by inhalation by means of a metered-dose aerosol with fluorocarbon propellant.
