Dichlorphenamide for respiratory disorders
Abstract
Dichlorphenamide (Daranide - MSD), a sulphonamide derivative, is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor offered as a respiratory stimulant and diuretic for use in disorders with carbon dioxide retention due to airways obstruction in bronchitis, asthma or emphysema. It is much more potent than its relative acetazolamide (Diamox - Lederle).
