Abstract

Although the treatment of superficial fungus infections was revolutionised by the introduction of the antifungal antibiotics griseofulvin and nystatin, rational therap still depends on knowledge of pathogenesis. The clinical diagnosis should always be confirmed by microscopy or culture.
