Choice of an oral anticoagulant


In a previous issue1 we drew attention to the large number of toxic reactions, some fatal, which had been associated with the use of phenindione. Although the incidence of toxic reactions to various anticoagulants is not known, our consultants now feel that phenindione is no longer the drug of choice.
