Two new tetracyclines

Abstract

The established tetracyclines are chlortetracycline (Aureomycin - Lederle), oxytetracycline (Terramycin - Pfizer), tetracycline (Achromycin - Lederle; Tetracyn - Pfizer) and demethylchlortetracycline (Ledermycin - Lederle). Recently two new ones have been introduced, lymecycline (Tetralysal - Carlo Erba), and methacycline (Rondomycin - Harvey Pharmaceuticals).
