Abstract

In our discussion about prescribing elastic hosiery we acknowledged that tights are not listed in the Drug Tariff and therefore may not be prescribed on Form FP10; to supply tights against such a prescription is illegal. In reporting the fact that some women ask the pharmacist to supply tights instead of stockings we sought to persuade the DHSS to change its rules and include tights in the Tariff.
