Pipothiazine palmitate (Piportil Depot) is a piperidine phenothiazine derivative, the seventh long-acting injectable neuroleptic to be marketed in the UK.¹ Although new here, it has been used for more than a decade in other countries.^2,3 After injection pipothiazine acts for about 4 weeks (range 2–8 weeks), longer than other injectable neuroleptics.
