▾ ACE inhibitors: enalapril and captopril compared

Abstract

Captopril was introduced in 1981 as the first inhibitor of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE).1,2 Now we have enalapril (Innovace - MSD) as well: it is intended for the treatment of hypertension and resistant heart failure. Is it an improvement over captopril?
