We have long deplored the excessive number of benzodiazepines on the market¹ and in 1985 we selected a few worth including in the DHSS ‘White List’.² Recently two more have been added to this list - lormetazepam and loprazolam - both of which we had found unremarkable when we reviewed them previously.^3,4 Do the more recently published data justify their inclusion?
