The treatment of mild hypertension

Abstract

Whether to treat a patient with mild hypertension has always been a difficult decision.1 Several recent large studies have attempted to provide some help in deciding whom to treat. This article reviews the evidence in adults aged 65 years or less. A further article will consider treatment in the older patient.
