Abstract

Mianserin (Bolvidon; Norval) has been available for about 10 years, but its place in the treatment of depression remains unclear. It has become particularly popular for use in elderly depressed patients. However, its safety and efficacy compared to older tricyclic antidepressives is not clearly established.
