▾Alteplase and ▾Anistreplase in acute myocardial infarction
Abstract
Three thrombolytic drugs can now be used to promote the recanalisation of acutely occluded coronary arteries, restoring blood flow to ischaemic areas of myocardium, limiting damage and improving the prognosis:1 streptokinase, alteplase (Actilyse - Boehringer Ingelheim) and anistreplase (Eminase - Beecham). This article compares the last two, following our review of recent trials of streptokinase and alteplase.2
