Drugs for alzheimer’s disease

Abstract

In 1984 we concluded that the drugs then available to treat senile dementia were ineffective.1 Since then much research has been done on the pathological mechanisms of dementia, particularly in Alzheimer’s disease. Many possible drug treatments have been explored, and some of them have received enthusiastic media coverage. Are any of these drugs worth trying?
