Abstract

Since 1983 we have used the prefix ‘S’ to identify, where possible, references to the proceedings of symposia sponsored by a manufacturer (DTB 1983; vol 21 page 24). These often appear as supplements of a learned journal and frequently receive less vigorous peer review than material in the regular issues of the same journal. We would be interested to hear from readers whether they find this useful.
