Diclofenac gel - topical NSAIDS and science

Abstract

We have twice concluded that more convincing evidence was needed to identify a specific role for topical NSAIDs in the treatment of inflammatory musculo-skeletal conditions.1,2 A new study of diclofenac gel (Voltarol Emulgel – Ciba Geigy) shows that they all need more rigorous assessment.
