Abstract

Ciba have pointed out to us that whereas Vioform cream and ointment are yellowish brown, Vioform Hydrocortisone cream and ointment are almost white because they contain recrystallised iodochlorhydroxyquinoline. This costs more to make and was not available when Vioform was first introduced many years ago. Staining of the skin and clothing may still occur. All Vioform preparations have a very slight odour: we should not have described it as unpleasant.
