Cephaloridine

Abstract

Cephaloridine (Ceporin-Glaxo) is a semisynthetic derivative of fungal cephalosporin C. The molecular nucleus resembles that of penicillin. A side chain is added in both cephaloridine and cephalothin (marketed in the US by Lilly), but only cephaloridine resists breakdown in the liver.
