Nasal obstruction can seriously interfere with the enjoyment of life and work. The condition is very common all over the world and in most cases the cause is unknown: in only a small proportion can a responsible allergen be identified. Nosedrops and sprays containing vasoconstrictor sympathomimetic amines may bring temporary relief. When should these preparations be used?
