Abstract

In our article on Managing Heart Failure (3 August 1992, page 61) we stated that data sheets advise against using ACE inhibitors in patients with mitral stenosis. Such advice is not given, nor can we find published evidence in its support. However, among our consultants it is common practice to withhold ACE inhibitors in patients with mitral stenosis. The basis for this approach needs clarification.
