Lowering blood pressure in particular patient groups

Abstract

In certain groups of patients, treatment of high blood pressure raises particular problems. These groups include, for instance, older people, those with co-existing disease (such as renal disease or diabetes), those of certain racial origin and pregnant women. Here, we discuss the use of antihypertensive drugs in such groups.
