Abstract

In the article on ethacrynic acid (Edecrin - MSD)¹ we said that this drug was the first and so far the only diuretic which has been shown to act on the ascending limb of the loop of Henle. Hoechst have now drawn our attention to work showing that their drug frusemide (Lasix) also acts at this site.^{2 3}
