Propaderm - yet another corticosteroid for the skin

Abstract

Propaderm ointment and cream (A & H) was launched on May 1st. These preparations contain 0.025% beclomethasone dipropionate, a compound which showed high activity in McKenzie’s blanching test1 and was therefore tried clinically. Claims that Propaderm is ‘outstandingly effective’ in psoriasis and eczema are based on still unpublished clinical trials comparing it with 0.025% fluocinolone acetonide (Synalar - ICI).
