Abstract

Propaderm ointment and cream (A & H) was launched on May 1st. These preparations contain 0.025% beclomethasone dipropionate, a compound which showed high activity in McKenzie’s blanching test¹ and was therefore tried clinically. Claims that Propaderm is ‘outstandingly effective’ in psoriasis and eczema are based on still unpublished clinical trials comparing it with 0.025% fluocinolone acetonide (Synalar - ICI).
