Candicidin (candeptin) a new drug for candidal vaginitis

Abstract

Candidal (monilial) vaginitis tends to occur particularly in pregnant women, in diabetics and in women treated with certain broad-spectrum antibiotics. Candida is also liable to infect vaginal epithelium that has been irritated or sensitised by an antiseptic, for example in zealous disinfection or excessive douching.
