The choice of an oestrogen
Abstract
Many compounds of widely different chemical structure have oestrogenic properties, that is, cause uterine enlargement and oestrus in spayed female animals. No one oestrogen is suitable for all clinical purposes; hence oestrogens should be prescribed in relation to the particular indication for their use. We have previously discussed the treatment of climacteric symptoms,1 but briefly refer to the subject again.
